Product Details

This course is an online course designed for teachers 5-12 who wish to continue to develop their language skills, study and teach French culture and language through animated films in French. Participants will study four animated movies: Ratatouille, Le roi lion, Kirikou et la sorcière et le Petit Prince. Emphasis will be on vocabulary building, improving conversational and writing skills, reading comprehension, analysis, as well as discussions of cultural events in the films ‘contexts. The projected outcome of this course is to provide classroom teachers with the knowledge, understanding, and methodologies needed to enable them to have more engaging students through the use of animated films in their class. Two of these films are useful to study French African legends, animals and fauna. In fact, Disney is going to offer a premier of the 3D version of Le roi lion in July 2019. The other movies stress on the importance of food in France and the clash of the new values versus the old ones and how to reconcile them. These animated films are an excellent tool to teach French to your students. The songs are also very catchy helping your students to learn in an easy and lively manner. This course is conducted in French by a native speaker, Dr. Sylvie Pressman.
